Patients will start the trip by flying or driving into the San Diego International Airport. Once there, our driver will pick you up at the airport (on the United States side), then transport you across the border.

victor the driver - Travelling to Tijuana for Bariatric SurgeryBelow is how Mexico Bariatric Center (MBC) patient travels to Mexico to undergo weight loss surgery. Most patients will arrive at the San Diego International Airport unless they live in the Southern California area.

Our bi-lingual driver, Willie & Victor, will pick you up at the airport to transport you to our hotel and hospital facility. Once your procedure is finished and we’ve finalized your journey. Our driver will transport you to the recuperating hotel. The next day we will drive you back to the border to San Diego International Airport.

During your stay in Mexico our patient advocate, Karla, will help you at every step of your journey. Your patient advocate will be your go-to person for all your concerns, questions, help, and travel information.

  • If you are driving, simply follow I-5 or I-805 south leading directly to the Mexican entry point at San Ysidro. Exit at the last U.S. exit and park on the US side. There are several parking places to park, such as border station parking. The driver will arrange to pick you up and take you to Tijuana.
